A few of the girls and I went on a little adventure to Xintiandi, a European-style area of Shanghai with lots of tourists and coffeeshops. It was a chance for us to try out the Shanghai Metro, which is supposedly one of the best in the world. It was a lot like the one I used in Taiwan, so it’s very convenient.
Xintiandi had a Starbucks, a Haagen Daaz, a Coldstone, and a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, just to name a few of the shops in the area. It’s probably most known for it’s architecture. We walked around a bit and took in the sights, I got a coffee, and eventually ended up at a little Chinese shop down the street, because all the restaurants there were just too expensive. It was very pretty though, and I’d recommend taking a look around if you get the chance or if you’re feeling homesick for western-style food.
By the way, I have a new tumblr for photos by the same name as this blog, Tripping and Traveling.
