So yesterday, we took the MRT to Zhongxiang Dun Nan and wandered over to Eslite, a huge Chinese bookstore, a bit like Kinokuniya if anyone knows that store.
First we had lunch in the Eslite food court, where I just got a sandwich and a mango green tea cooler. The mango here in Taiwan is really good, so we basically eat it every chance we get. It’s sweet and refreshing, especially since it’s so hot here.
Next, we went into science/animal store which had loads of stuffed animals, fossils, and science items, and where I bought a souvenir for my brother. We’ve discovered that Koju loves fluffy white things like polar bears, rabbits, and fat cats. He’s kind of ridiculous, in a good way.
Next we went into the stationary store (photos weren’t allowed), which is where I finally found some postcards to send, and also a music store where I considered buying Show Luo’s new album, but then decided against it. The only song I knew I liked was Count on Me. Finally we went to the actual book store where I bought a children’s book for my mom. It’s really cute and it’s by a fairly famous Taiwanese author/artist. The store was really nice overall, but the prices were basically the same as what I would pay in America.
