Today we had our first classes and I was really tired during them. Five straight hours of Chinese study, yow! The electricity was out for a while, too, so the A/C wasn’t on either. The teacher we had from Ming Chuan was pretty cool, told us to call him Zion, but he’s just a sub until the regular teacher arrives.
Joyce, Koju, Tina, and I went searching for an Italian place they told us about, called Stupid Reed, but we got lost trying to find it. We asked this guy just getting on his scooter and he ended up being really nice and helping us find it! We took a picture with him and now we’re facebook friends. International friends, yes!
Stupid Reed wasn’t really Italian, but it was pretty good. I had “Lisbon Gratin Seafood Macaroni” which was basically noodles, seafood, and cheese. It was delicious. It was also my first time eating a shrimp that hadn’t been pre-shelled, so that was interesting… We sat talking for hours, and it was nice because we were getting to know one another so well.
We came back to the dorm and were going to go out to the Night Market again, but Joyce and I fell asleep and the others didn’t wake us up!! So that was an uneventful night, I think it’s safe to say.
